Coming Soon!

Our next event on 22 September 2010 (sorry, a Wed.) is called "50 Billion Mobile Devices - Who will Get Rich? Perspectives from Silicon Valley, London & Belfast". Organised in collaboration with NISP Connect, we have received the confirmation from senior executives of the mobile industry (O2, the GSM Association, Google, ITL) to present their vision of 2014, when there will be seven times more mobile devices than humans on the planet. Register here now for that event (limited seats available).

Mobile Health

For our last event of the 2009-10 season, we were hosting a Talk + Q&A Session on mHealth on Monday 14 June at the BlackBox Cafe, to leverage the presence of members of the Continua Health Alliance attending the European Connected Health Conference Week (14-18 June) in Belfast! A packed house interested in this $1.5bn. global market (expected to triple by 2014) heard our Keynote speaker David Doherty, Business Development Director with 3G Doctor, the world's first service to enable the public to consult with GPs anytime and from anywhere using a 3G video mobile phone, talk about developments and opportunities in this market. The ensuing discussion involved members of Continua who also gave great insights into what Irish companies are doing on a software and appliation basis, esp. technology companies Biancamed, McElwaine Smart, Medhand International, S3 Group, Synapse Teleneurology and Voxpro.

Mobile Devices Part 2

Via Videolink from London, Salvatore Rinaldo, Apps & Services Technology Specialist at The Symbian Foundation, gave on Monday 17 May an interactive talk on how mobile devices are reshaping, especially when they are not an Apple device! Symbian is the platform that has worldwide scale, even if Android is trying to get market share too.

Mobile Devices Part 1

On Monday 19 April 2010, our selected speakers Stephen Sharkey, Director Telecom Business at LIONBRIDGE, Dublin + Jim O'Neill, Bus. Dev. Director & Andrew McCartney, Technical Director at SPEECHBUBBLE, Belfast, showed us how the mobile device landscape was evolving beyond recognition, and that screen ubiquity was now paramount.
